We believe in Baby/Child Dedication (instead of infant Baptism.)
A Child Dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents, and sometimes families, make a commitment before the Lord to submit a child to God’s will and to raise that child according to God’s Word and God’s ways.
In Luke 2:22 8 days after Jesus is born, his parents brought him into the temple to dedicate him to the Lord. Later in the gospels there is an account of some parents who are trying to do the same and Jesus’ disciples get frustrated, thinking the kids should be pushed away.
Mark 10:13-14 “One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.’ “
Kids are VERY important to Jesus!
